I navigate an interdisciplinary creative practice of object making, drawing and performance art with a thematic focus on female perfectionism, self-care and Motherhood mythologies. I use metaphor, ritual and labour to explore fundamental relationships between the self and domestic culture. It is a dynamic that is at once both wild and tame(d), with its particular combination of permanence and impermanence and frequent alienation of the individual.

The intimacy, interdependence and isolation held within Motherhood are at the core of my most recent work Lawn Ornament, Duet, Sugar Tooth and Baby Teeth and One Milk, Two Sugar. In this work, I continue exploring nonlinear narratives that examine the singular-ness of the Mother - child dyad, the feral intuitiveness of the pregnant/postpartum experience, body dysmorphia and the identity crisis of Motherhood.

Fundamentally, I am interested in transformations—in how our experiences become our histories, and how these histories turn into half-remembered personal myths or fairy-tales, often marking the creation of new identities and truths. Having recently moved from Maiden to Mother in the realms of social expectation, I find continuous inspiration in the ongoing evolution of female selfhood.

My studio research is a rigorous process that venerates time, labour and craftsmanship. I work fluidly with several mediums, prioritising my conceptualization and giving creative space to explore materials and movements through intuition and associative thinking. My studio work often combines detailed drawings, intricate ceramic installations and performance scores. I find beauty and complexity held in the contradictions of being human, and through my work often seek a balance between wildness and domesticity, playfulness and repose, while glimpsing the absurdity within the everyday.
